Fernandez brings nearly 20 years of hotel industry experience to her role

HONOLULU — The Kahala Hotel & Resort is pleased to announce that Pualani Fernandez has joined the executive team as resort manager, responsible for overseeing the overall operation and strategic management of the 338-room luxury hotel.

Fernandez brings nearly 20 years of hotel industry experience to her role, having worked in a variety of management positions in hotels in Hawaii and California, including JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina Resort & Spa, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach and Four Seasons Aviara San Diego. Most recently, she served as hotel manager for the Prince Waikiki.

“Pualani is a hospitality industry veteran with a passion for perpetuating and sharing Hawaiian culture,” said Joe Ibarra, general manager of The Kahala Hotel & Resort. “Having served at some of the most highly regarded properties in Hawaii and the West Coast, she brings a wealth of experience and leadership in luxury hospitality and will play a key role as we strive to enhance our guests’ experience at The Kahala.”

Fernandez is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is active in the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, Prince Kuhio Hawaiian Civic Club and Halau I Ka Wekiu.
